Swimming Pool Glossary

Swimming pool toys, water inflatables, and water games turn swimming pools into aquatic playgrounds. These are some favorites that are showing up at backyard pools.

• Infant Floats - Plain or whimsical inflatable contraptions allow babies and toddlers to safely kick and splash around in the pool; includes riders, loungers, and baby floats.
• Beach Balls - A favorite toss pool toy at commencement ceremonies, and a freestyle volleying activity pool toy for indoor or outdoor swimming pools of all sizes; happy/crazy faces, colored panels, metallic, frosted, and cartoon character inflatables, ranging from 16 to 48 inches in diameter.

Fun Floats - pool rafts, inflatable boats, pool rockers, teeter-totters, wheels, and cubes; inflatable, floating swimming pool toys include water castles, floating houses, gigantic inner tubes, 5- to 6-foot noodles, and curling, coiling, spiraling inflated lengths. Swimming Goggles, Masks, and Mermaid Fins - Many use thermoplastic and hypoallergenic rubber for a comfortable fit; protective swim goggles have tinted lenses, swim/sport masks protect a larger eye area. Pool Lounges, Pool Floats, and Air Mattresses - Single or double inflatable pool lounges and recliners allow you to nap in the sun and spend the day in the pool without getting wet. Pool Tubes - Neon, frosted, patriotic, or swirl designs in single and double sizes; for drifting or lounging; in 36- to 84-inch diameters; tubes to surround your middle, and pool tubes to sit in and relax. Pool Ride-Ons - Kids ride the miniature waves on inflatable fish and animals, wacky vehicles, or fantasy creatures, kicking and splashing their way to summer fun. Sponge Toys - Safe, soft, tossable toys: water bombs, floating discs, and balls. Squirt Toys - Geysers, water blasters, squirt guns, and shooters are great for water shootouts at pools, lakes, and backyards. Swim Rings - Creatures and shapes in ring designs of all colors to keep children afloat. Water Games - Pool basketball, pool volleyball, paddle games, water arcades, blasters, floating targets, ring toss, dive toys, and combat games for fast-paced pool fun.
